Recently, I had the pleasure of working with Carolina Aragón. She installed a new public art piece called High Tide, located on the Rose Kennedy Greenway. On a warm, sunny Friday morning, our cameraman, Rafi, and I met with Carolina to capture her artwork on video. We learned that High Tide is a visual representation of a marsh along Boston’s shoreline– past, present and future. Today in Boston, there is a looming threat of future flooding due to sea level rise. This piece looks to encourage conversations around sea level rise, climate change, and what we can do in order to stop it.
If you’re near the North End, go check it out! Grab a cannoli, be mesmerized by Carolina’s kinetic art piece and learn a thing or two about climate change and the effects of sea level rise.
Having worked with Carolina, we were inspired to do another Did You Know? video, also on the topic of climate change.
